Canopied padel court in a desert club setting

Cost

A padel court costs $40,000 to $120,000+. Here is exactly why the range is that wide.

Anyone who quotes you a single number before seeing the site is guessing. This page shows what moves the price, what is not included, and gives you a working estimate in about thirty seconds.

What drives cost

Seven variables, in order of impact.

  • Court model

Panoramic glass and canopied courts carry more steel, more glass area and more install labour than a classic glass court.

  • Glass specification

12mm toughened is standard. Laminated upgrades for high-exposure or high-traffic public sites add cost per panel.

  • Lighting package

Four projectors at 300 lux covers recreational play. Eight at 500 lux is competition and broadcast grade.

  • Canopy or roof

A membrane roof roughly doubles the structural package and adds foundations, drainage and engineering.

  • Site conditions

Wind exposure category, seismic zone, slope, access for a crane and distance from the nearest port all move the number.

  • Shipping

Ocean freight from Spain, customs, duty and inland haulage to your site. Port proximity matters more than people expect.

  • Install coordination

Crew mobilisation, crane time, supervision and the number of courts installed in one visit. Multi-court builds are cheaper per court.

Not included

What sits outside the court package.

Budget for these separately. On a typical outdoor project they add 30% to 60% on top of the court package.

  • Groundworks and slab

Excavation, sub-base, reinforced concrete to our tolerance sheet. Typically $18,000–$45,000 per court depending on ground conditions.

  • Permitting and zoning

Application fees, drawings, hearings and any impact studies. Highly jurisdiction-dependent.

  • Engineering

Your engineer of record stamps the slab and anchor design. We supply the manufacturer's structural data to them.

  • Drainage and stormwater

Surface drainage, connection to site stormwater, and any retention required by the municipality.

  • Electrical

Service upgrade, panel, trenching and conduit to the court location.

  • Surroundings

Fencing, pathways, seating, shade, landscaping and any spectator infrastructure.
